The idea for Kangaroo Files came up during a work meeting. It was noted that most accountants were still using the phone and email every day to respond to client requests for both current and non-current documents, wasting expensive human resources on a task that brought no financial return.

At the end of that meeting, the future founders of Kangaroo exchanged looks and said, “There's a big gap in the market here. What if we createda program to help accountants provide information to their clients?”
